Sophie Hepach is a doctoral candidate and research assistant in the Division Media Use and Digital Cultures<\/a>, which is headed by Christine Lohmeier.<\/p>\n

In 2025, she completed her master’s degree in journalism with a focus on innovation and management at KU Eichst\u00e4tt-Ingolstadt<\/a>. In her master’s thesis, she focused on quality journalism for children and, together with the target group, developed a catalog of quality criteria for children’s news. In her bachelor’s thesis, which she also wrote at KU, she examined how young people are influenced by gender stereotypes in social media.<\/p>\n

Ihre Forschungsinteressen sind Leichte und Einfache Sprache im Journalismus, Mediennutzung und Medienwirkung bei Kindern und Jugendlichen, Medien und Journalismus im Kontext von gesellschaftlichen und politischen Entwicklungen, Cultural Studies sowie die Verzahnung von Medien und geschichtswissenschaftlichen Themen.<\/p>\n
