Students must complete 144 ECTS in Communication Science and 36 ECTS in free electives.<\/p>\n<p>The program consists of <strong>nine modules<\/strong>. It begins with a <strong>STEOP<\/strong>, which serves as an orientation for the students whose positive completion is required to continue the study program. It also provides knowledge of the processes and structures of media communication, which enables students to orientate themselves and serves as preparation for professional activities, e.g. general communication. Ideally, however, these two courses &#8211; KO Reflection Practice and SE Research Fields 4 &#8211; should have been completed before attending the bachelor&#8217;s seminar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bachelorarbeit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The bachelor&#8217;s thesis can only be written as part of the bachelor&#8217;s seminar. The thesis is 40 to 55 pages long (100,000 to 140,000 characters, including spaces and bibliography). The formal guidelines for writing the Bachelor thesis include the application of the FB&#8217;s citation rules (available for download under Service encoded_tag_closed &gt;Forms and Downloads). This is where students can find out all the information they need to know.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_tta_tabs active_section=&#8221;1&#8243;][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Work placement&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1541170704141-8d0319f6-06f2&#8243;][vc_column_text]The <strong>work placement<\/strong> can be undertaken with organisations in the media and communications sector at home and abroad. In general, work placements that are relevant to the profession are recognised as &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; in media or communication companies &#8211; publishing houses, broadcasters, communication agencies (PR, advertising, online) &#8211; with at least one relevantly trained and full-time supervising intern.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; in business enterprises with a designated own communication department and at least one relevantly trained and full-time supervising trainee manager.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, all further placements are subject to individual examination and assessment. In principle, guidance\/supervision by a suitably trained or designated person during the placement is required for recognition\/approval. In particular, this recommendation applies to a range of marketing activities, event marketing and social media activities.<\/p>\n<p>Before starting an internship or concluding an internship contract, it is strongly recommended that you ask Boris Romahn for an assessment of your eligibility. You should bring a detailed job description and details of the relevant work placement supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>As a general rule, the following will not be recognised as a work placement<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Working in family-owned businesses or divisions where relatives are employed in managerial or supervisory positions<br \/>\n&#8211; All forms of education, training and holiday work.<br \/>\n&#8211; Internships completed before the start of studies<br \/>\n&#8211; Activities that do not have a recognisable focus on communication and media or content production<br \/>\n&#8211; Marketing activities of a purely business or product type<br \/>\n&#8211; Pure artistic, curatorial, graphic, business, tourist activity<br \/>\n&#8211; Activities carried out without professional and competent guidance<\/p>\n<p>If in doubt, BEFORE undertaking such activities, and BEFORE submitting the application for recognition, please enquire whether credit is possible.<\/p>\n<p>The work placement usually involves one continuous activity, but can be completed in up to three parts.
