KoWi\u2019s new transnational research project <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/journalismsciencealliance.eu\/project\/zero-record-the-systematic-erasure-of-child-abuse-and-gender-based-violence-statistics-from-turkish-digital-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Zero Record<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 by <a href=\"https:\/\/correctiv.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CORRECTIV<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kowi-salzburg.at\/en\/department\/public-spheres-and-inequalities\/\">Public Spheres and Inequalities<\/a> (PSI) Division at the Department of Communication Studies, University of Salzburg, investigates the systematic erasure femicide, child abuse, and gender-based violence from Turkish digital media. Project Zero Record is selected by the Journalism Science Alliance and funded by the European Union.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using NLP and computational analysis, <a href=\"https:\/\/correctiv.org\/team\/viera-zuborova\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Viera Zuborova<\/a>, Director of the Correctiv.Exile Section, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kowi-salzburg.at\/en\/team\/univ-prof-dr-hanan-badr\/\">Hanan Badr<\/a>, Professor at Department of Communication Studies, lead a team to examine more than 900 deleted articles preserved on a blockchain database \u2014 producing the first data-driven forensic account of this censorship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zero Record investigates how converge on femicides, child abuse, and gender-based violence is erased from the Turkish digital media landscape. The project is collaboration between the Correctiv.Exile of CORRECTIV (Germany) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kowi-salzburg.at\/en\/department\/public-spheres-and-inequalities\/\">Public Spheres and Inequalities<\/a> (PSI) Division at the Department of Communication Studies, University of Salzburg.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Findings will be published as long-form investigative reports, an open-access interactive data visualization, and a policy brief on press freedom and gender equality. <\/span><a
