Hina Bashir is a doctoral candidate and research assistant in the Division of Transcultural Communication. She completed her Master’s degree in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) in Digital Communication Leadership, specializing in Policy and Innovation, in 2023. During her Master’s studies, she attended Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, and the University of California, Los Angeles as a visiting researcher.

Her Master’s thesis, titled “Artificial Intelligence Mental Health Chatbots: A Users’ Perspective on Consumption and Data Privacy”, examined users’ perspectives on the use of AI-driven mental health chatbots, focusing on issues of consumption and data privacy. The research explored the reasons behind users’ willingness to engage with these technologies.

Hina completed her Bachelor’s degree in Media Sciences at Iqra University in 2018, specializing in Advertising. She was selected as an exchange student by the Study of the U.S. Institutes for Student Leaders program. Hina also brings five years of professional experience in media and communication.
