Welcome to the Division Media Use and Digital Cultures

How do people use media in everyday life? What new possibilities for action arise from the technical progress of media technologies? How do communities and collective identities change through digitalization and online communication? These are central questions in the teaching and research activities of the Division Media Use & Digital Cultures.

Our research projects are located at the intersections of media use, identity, and community processes and include topics such as communication studies of memory, families’ media use, and visual communication. In addition, areas of focus include media content research in various fields, media and sports, and popular culture studies.
