The master’s program in Communication Science builds on the basic knowledge acquired in the Bachelor’s program in Communication Science and comparable Bachelor’s programs. It deepens and complements the scientific professional training but focuses more strongly on scientific research. Upon graduation, students will have acquired competence in central research areas of communication science and the ability to independently organize and conduct communication

science analyses. They will also be able to independently organize and conduct analyses in the field of communication science and to reflect on and apply relevant theories. In addition, graduates will have acquired communication science thinking and working methods for analyzing complex issues, a more profound knowledge of social and cultural communication processes, and an understanding of (multi)media conception, design and production processes.
