Linda Siegel is a PhD student and research assistant in the Division of Media Use and Digital Cultures with Prof. Dr. Christine Lohmeier. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Literature, Cultural Studies, and Media Studies at the University of Siegen, she completed her master’s degree in Media Culture at the University of Bremen, graduating in 2019. During her studies, she worked as a student assistant at the Center for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the University of Bremen from 2015 to 2018 and contributed to various research projects. In her doctoral dissertation, she focuses on the values and ideas that are inscribed in public transport software, understanding software developers as meaningful and accountable entities in the software development process for the public transport sector. Current research interests include Critical Algorithm Studies, Gender Studies and Inequalities.
