EurOMo 2025 celebrates launch in Brussels
After several months of data collection and analysis, Tales Tomaz and Josef Trappel presented the results of the EurOMo (“Euromedia Ownership Monitor”) research project for 2025 in Brussels on Thursday, November 6, 2025. The online tool provides transparency on who owns the media in EU member states and where potential risks to media transparency lie. The department was also represented by research assistant Magdalena Holzapfel.
The project is being further developed in cooperation with European partner institutions and is financially supported by the European Commission.
The official launch brought together researchers, government representatives, and media professionals from across Europe at the Press Club Brussels. In two exciting panel discussions, the research teams presented their latest findings on Belgium, France, and Poland, explained the tool’s new features, and discussed why a detailed dataset like this is so important for the European media landscape.
