Prof. Dr. Badr spoke at the international panel titled: “Critical AI Issues in the Majority World.” This timely discussion examined how AI technologies reinforce global inequalities with a focus on Palestine. It asked how voices from the Global South can be meaningfully included in shaping digital futures.
Her intervention draw on her extensive research on digital inequalities, media participation, and communication justice in the Arab region, addressing decolonial approaches towards AI governance.
💡 This event marks the launch of CrAIC: Exeter’s new Critical AI Centre, which will serve as a hub for rethinking AI through a lens of equity, justice, and interdisciplinary critique.
