Language requirements

Persons whose native language is not German must provide proof of knowledge. This may be demonstrated in particular by a school-leaving certificate or a certificate of a completed course of study based on teaching in that language.

Various certificates of German language proficiency at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages are accepted, but the certificates must not be older than two years.

Applicants who have not yet reached level B2 must provide proof of at least level A2 to deepen their knowledge of German in a university course.
