Aurora Alliegro is a doctoral candidate at Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg (PLUS) within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network RePIM, where she researches sustainability requirements for Public Interest Media.
She earned a double Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree in Journalism, Media & Globalisation from Aarhus University and LMU Munich (2025). Her master’s thesis developed a competency framework and relevant strategies for Media and AI Literacy education in European K–12 schools, drawing on expert interviews across related fields. She previously completed a BA with Honours in History at University of Naples Federico II, including an exchange semester at The University of Manchester.
Her research on AI and journalism has been presented at ICA and DGPuK conferences in 2025, including her work “Building Better Media Landscapes & Societies through AI Journalism”. Beyond academia, she has worked in innovation and digital transformation at the NATO NCI Academy and held strategic communication, editorial, and journalism roles across Italian and international media organizations.
