Thomas Birkner is a full professor at the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Salzburg. He heads the journalism division. In addition to linking journalistic practice and international journalism research, he is particularly interested in the medialization of politics and sports and teaches political communication and sports journalism. After completing the project “The Media Biographies of the Federal German Chancellors”, his current project is called “The Century of Journalism”.- Journalism/Journalism Research
