Tales Tomaz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Salzburg (Austria) and coordinator of the Euromedia Ownership Monitor (EurOMo), funded by the European Commission. He is also vice-chair of the ECREA Section Communication Law & Policy (CLP) and a board member of the Austrian Society for Communication Science (ÖGK). His current research focuses on ownership structures in European media and the regulation of digital platforms. In addition to numerous publications, he has been involved in various research projects, including The Media for Democracy Monitor 2021 (MDM), European Media and Platform Policy (EuromediApp), and Resilient Media for Democracy in the Digital Age (ReMeD). He has been with the department since 2019; previously, he worked in Brazil as an assistant professor and as a member of the research groups FiloCom/ECA/USP and Geccom/Unasp.- Digital media and democracy
